Weekly Photo Challenge: Converge

Lines and shadows, every pastel-painted wooden hut evenly spaced,
all converge

  1. Beach huts and park benches ~ a delightful set of pictures for me. It’s foggy and cold and beginning to snow again here. Beautiful, but w-a-y different that beach pictures.

What a clever way of thinking about converging. I especially love the beach huts. So adorable, almost like little doll houses.

As soon as I saw the theme ‘converge’ I thought of this photo taken back in the late summer of these beach huts…and just like you, looking at them again I am reminded of doll’s houses…which I adore! Thanks Letizia 🙂

  5. Wow! I’ve seen almost the identical beach hut photo from someone else across the pond…major deja vu, Sherri! Of course, your photo is better. 🙂 All of these photos are spectacular. I particularly liked the photo taken from the stern and the memorial benches. Great challenge! xo

How funny…but glad you like mine better, lol 😀 I love benches too Jill, and often take photos of them. I was glad to get this shot because normally there are people sitting on them, but it was towards the end of the afternoon and quite chilly so M and I were the only ones up there! It was worth the long haul up that hill just for the view 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the pics, thought it would be good to have a bit of fun and I haven’t done the photo challenge for a little while. Thanks Jill 🙂 xo

You are so kind Diane, thank you my friend 🙂 It seems funny looking at these photos with the snow effect (a nice little touch from WordPress!) but it reminds me of walks by the sea in the winter, which are always so wonderful, so long as we are wrapped up warm. Nice to have a bit of fun isn’t it? Hugs… ❤ xoxo

  10. Stunning shots here. I particularly love the beach huts and memorial benches. But I am always a fan of paths and walkways so love the last two pictures, too.

P.S. How is everyone making it snow on their blogs? O_o

Thanks so much Michelle 🙂 It is very inviting up there and I was glad to be able to snap that shot with nobody else around at the top of the path that day but me and Hubby. The way they all lined up like that really struck me. It is so peaceful, I could quite happily live in the house behind them, the view of the sea is truly magnificent ❤

Beautiful interpretation of this week’s theme, Sherri. I love it when you play along with the photo challenges, you always share such thoughtful, well-meaning photos. Hard to pick a favourite. Probably the first one as there’s just something so serene about it – lonely beach huts with no one but their shadows for company 🙂 Hope you had a good Thanksgiving and break from blogging, and spent a lovely time with your loved ones. It’s almost the end of the year, time does fly. Hope your book is coming along nicely, I am sure it is 🙂

Thank you so much Mabel, so glad you enjoyed them! Haha…love it that you say ‘play along’ as this is just how I feel when taking part in the photo challenges and I’ve missed them, unable to do so for a few weeks due to, well, too many distractions 😮 Yes, I was struck by the shadows too and even though there were people around, I wanted to take a shot conveying that loneliness, a sort of starkness amidst the warmth of the pastel painted wood and the last of the late summer sun creating the shadows. Love your artistic eye Mabel 🙂 It was a lovely break and birthday celebration with my son, thank you, and yes, now it is full-on getting ready for Christmas, lol 🙄 Unfortunately I haven’t written much on my book lately (but did get out a couple of submissions) but fully intend to rectify that asap! Bless you, I do hope you have a wonderful weekend coming up and I’ll see you soon 🙂

        • Thanks, Sherri. Off to tweak and publish in a moment. Will let you know when it’s up.

You don’t need to tell me about the uselessness of BT. My mother has been in a 3-year battle with them over some money they said she owed, when she’d already paid it. Only now has it been sorted out. People just don’t want that sort of stress, particularly at her age. xxxx

Oh what an absolute nightmare for your poor mother. Too bad BT don’t pay her any compensation for all the stress they put her under, just dreadful…

Thanks so much Sarah… 🙂 xxx

And now getting to your lovely comment, and thank you Sarah, so glad you enjoyed the photos. Nothing beats a walk by the sea does it, as you well know 🙂 I just love this row of benches, all dedicated to loved ones who lived in the area, also that nobody was sitting on them when we were up there. It was late in the day, late summer. Otherwise, I’m sure there would have been many more sitting on them, the view is spectacular. I would love to live in the house behind them 🙂

I love the little painted beach huts. What do people use them for? Are they for storing fun things to play in the water with?

    Like

    • Sherri says:

They are so cute aren’t they Rachel? They are owned or rented by people for days out at the seaside for picnics, making tea, getting changed, that kind of thing, and yes, storing all their beach stuff. I wanted one so much when I was a kid, I wanted to live in one! I’m obsessed with little wooden huts, and now I have my own – my summerhouse, lol 😉

great converge post – and the benches show that they endured some earth converging… as they shifted a bit – they sure were interesting as they were uneven – and my favorite the path from somerset – was nicely placed in the series of pics – go front he water front he ship – to the sky in that pic – and to the light – all converged – but enjoyed each pic 🙂 ❤

This was an interesting challenge wasn’t it? I hadn’t realised how many pics I have taken showing a convergence, they just seemed like good views to me, lol!! Yes, I love the unevenness of the empty benches too. Oh I’m so glad you like the path in Somerset Y, that’s a short walk away from where we live 😉 Thanks so much as always mon amie for your great insight with your wonderfully artistic interpretation, I love it 🙂 ❤

I drank in those pictures and felt really jealous until I realised that we live on the same island and I could see things like that as well. You create such lyrically cosy posts, with your eye for a photographs and the well weighted words which accompany them.

Haha…oh Ste, no need to feel really jealous. These places are mere miles away from you!!!!! I love our beautiful isle but I admit to being a bit obsessed with beach huts…I wanted to live in one when I was a little girl, and now I write in one, my summerhouse, which is about the same size, except not by the sea, more’s the pity, but can’t have everything…
Oh…thank you so much, you always say such lovely things about my posts, you’ve made my Monday morning…and I hope you had a lovely weekend and your Monday is going well too… 🙂

I do aim to go places in the new year and look at taking photos with a view to complementing your style. Chalet is an awesome word by the way. I can imagine a buch of us bloggers hiring a house overlooking the sea for a few weeks in summer and writing together, how awesome and productive would that be! I am glad to brighten your Monday and the reciprocation was right there with your wonderful comments to moi!
