Acrobats and Playmates

If you love squirrels like I do (especially playing in the snow), then this delightful post from Jim’s Garden will make you smile. Enjoy and thanks Jim 🙂

Thanks. I thought you would like it.

APM10

Yes. It is fun around here. So much to do.

If ever you are bored, just call your buddy.

APM11

He will come down to play every time.

APM11a

Then you can square off

APM12

and go chasing each other all around the yard.

APM13

APM14

APM14a

Yes, indeed. It is FUN.

I must confess, though.  What we do more than anything is sniff for food.

APM15

It’s usually pretty easy, but it gets a little tricky in the snow.

APM15b

Of course, you can always go for the cool silver tray bird feeder,

APM15c

unless it’s occupied.

APM16

In which case I just like to relax and watch the action

APM17

until I’m ready to join the fun.

APM17a

Chasing after my buddy

or flying off through the woods alone.

I love it.

  1. Sherri so gorgeous in my minds eye I can see a picture book with all those beautiful images. Love the red bird too. I wish we had squirrels here they looks so playful. I bet they get up to lots of mischief?

  2. Oh, if we could have been there with our dog Maggie for a play date! She loves prancing around, pouncing, tale wagging, trying to be part of the adventure. Only once did she catch a squirrel, and immediately she let it go and looked almost apologetic for getting carried away. But since Maggie is part coyote, it was part of her nature…
Fun pictures, and much appreciated on this wintery day!

Ahh….part coyote! Marylin, believe it or not we had the cutest dog once called Whiskey who was part coyote and part Queensland Heeler. He was so smart and the kids adored him but in the end he was too much of a handful so we gave him to a rancher friend of ours. Needless to say, he was as happy as a clam in his new home 🙂 Your Maggie sounds delightful and what fun she and the squirrels would have…and can just imagine her expression, bless! So glad you enjoyed the pics 🙂

  5. Great pictures, Sherri! Thanks for sharing. He is cute, but to be honest, after having a squirrel running around in our attic for two days, I’m not their biggest fan. I thought it was a person up there. 🙂
I hope your computer problems have been resolved. xo

Oh no! Jill, I can just imagine what that sounded like and no wonder you aren’t a huge fan! Did you get the squirrel out? They are very naughty, no doubt about it, but I was glad to share something light-hearted after all the stress of last week…glad you liked the pics. Still working on my email issues, have sent you my new Gmail address… horribly behind again here but will be over to you now… 🙂 xoxo

  6. Sherri, that post inspired me to go dig out my photo of a little white squirrel I stumbled upon in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. I wrote a short blog about it: http://www.jenniferbgraham.com/white-squirrel/

Sherri, I left a message on Jim’s blog requesting ideas for getting the little critters out of our garden – we are always shooing them away from our bird feeder😄

I know my week was horribly stressful but I hope this doesn’t mean you had a stressful week too Andrea! If so, I hope you had a relaxing weekend and so glad these pics cheered you up 🙂 I had Nicky home, so nice to chill with him but after getting my submission out – barely – on Friday, I couldn’t face getting back on my laptop (so burnt out) and so was glad to reblog Jim’s beautiful squirrel pics to bring a few smiles along the way 🙂

Thanks so much Andrea! I do feel a little better 🙂 First time for a memoir competition this for me, and I had the hardest time getting my formatting to work on the Fish website but got there in the end. I didn’t dare try for the PDF with all the problems I’ve had, as it was I almost lost the lost when I accidentally hit the delete button, yikes 😮 All the best with you too with Fish and also for your next one…you’ll do it, you are on a roll 🙂

now this made my day – and so glad I came here right now – I was planning on dropping by tonight – and sherri = what a nice reblog.
I am going to visit the original too – but the playfulness was fun – and even more – the burnt orange color agisnt all that white and brown is a visual treat – and one red cardinal – thanks for this cheery share ❤ 💕
