Smorgasbord Posts from Your Archives – #Travel – An Italian Journey – Writing and Healing by Sherri Matthews

Every Thursday for the next four weeks, lovely Sally Cronin will feature one of my archived travel posts for her Posts From Your Archives series. The first today is about my visit to stunning Lake Garda in September, 2016, not long after the death of my dear, darling Dad. My grief left me unable to write, but I share in this post how my time in Lake Garda both healed and inspired me to write again.

Gorgeous photos, Sher. Italian is my heritage and I hope to visit there someday soon. I got chills when you saw your dad sitting at the empty table. What a blessing, in so many ways. Help is always available…all we have to do is look and listen. Hugs, sweet friend ❤️

    • I’m truly honoured to write about the country of your heritage dear Tina, how I hope you do visit your beautiful Italy one day. It is a great blessing indeed, when that help arrives, so unexpectedly, and I certainly never expected to ‘find’ my dad there, sitting at that empty table. Thank you so much for reading and for your lovely comment my sweet friend, hugs right back 🙂 ❤ 🙂

Sherri, How wonderful it is to have your lovely post brought out into the daylight once more. I enjoyed reading your post at the time, of how you received inspiration and encouragement from your Dad while you were on a holiday and feeling the darkness of despair. All is never lost. As you say, it stirred deep inside you. We will be the receivers of your joy when we get to read your published book. I’m so looking forward to doing so.

  6. Dearest Sherri, sorry I flew off yesterday without commenting after leaving a “like” on your post. I got waylaid before I could do so. Just wanted to say that I’m ever so pleased for you that you’ve been invited to showcase your lovely posts on Sally Cronin’s blog.

Countdown for our meet-up in less than a fortnight now. I hope the weather lasts. Am so excited to be seeing you after so many months. Love and hugs, Sarah xxxxxxxxxxx
